A Magnificent Decorative Antique Billiard - Snooker - Pool Table, circa 1906

A full size 12ft x 6ft mahogany billiard table standing on eight massive lobed and turned legs,the panelled side frames are embellished with gadrooned mouldings, fan shape carvings and corbel brackets.The intricate cushion friezes compliment the frame and the table is fitted with patent “Eureka steel Vacuum Cushions.

The original makers plaque is fitted to the end of the table, which was made by The "Original Burroughes & Watts Co" of London, it has no association with the company who currently trade under the same name which is merely a purchased title,the original B&W company was dissolved in 1967.


The table is in excellent condition, the cushion rubbers have been replaced with NR professional rubbers, the cloth used to cover the bed and cushions is English "Strachan" wool cloth as used by The World Snooker Association.

- An antique mahogany triangle and brush
- Six ash cues and chalk
- Associated Cross rest and Spider bridge
- Three resin billiard balls

Provenance
This table has a known piece of championship history with one of the plaques reading,

"On this table, John Roberts played his final public match conceding E Diggle 2500 points in a game of 18000 up winning by 606. Henglers Circus London June 2nd 1906."
