A Country House set of Billiard Rules

A beautiful set of Country House Billiard rules manufactured circa 1875 by Burroughes & Watts of London, consisting of The Rules of Billiards, The Rules of Pyramid Pool and The Rules of Life Pool: All in original matching oak frames the glass is genuine Victorian and has been retained along with the original hanging hooks.

The timber quality is simply outstanding and set such as this is a very rare find.

Provenance
Previously owned by Professor Bernard Nevill, who acquired them for his home the only surviving stable block of Fonthill Abbey.

The house at Fonthill Abbey was built for The Marquess of Westminster by "Burn" between 1846-1852 and was demolished in 1955.

Bernard Nevill FRSA FCSD is a British designer and academic, formerly a professor at Saint Martin's School of Art and Design Director for Liberty of London, he acquired these rules his home at Fonthill Abbey.
