Country House billiard table restoration

July 2019

An important part of our work is the advice and sympathetic restoration to billiard tables housed within country estates.

We recently advised a client in Thetford regarding his Burroughes & Watts table which had been installed at his home by his grandfather in 1900.

As expected the table was very genuine having never left the property, however it had been part dismantled by a groundsman and it required careful piecing back together.

The playing conditions needed and overhaul so new rubbers and cloth were fitted.

The mahogany was very dull and discoloured so we cleaned and  revived this and hand waxed to finish.

The old broken nets were retained and new hand cut leathers supplied.
